Brewing Up Some Amber Ale - Brew Day

Last Wednesday I started my 8th batch of beer.  This is my second amber ale, the first not turning out as tasty as I would have liked.  I'm hoping this one will come out much better.  I do have 5 more brews under my belt, and I do think their getting better each time.

I plan to take you through the whole brewing process from Brew Day to first first sip of the finished bottled beer.  Brew Day takes about four hours.  No one wants to watch me walk back and forth in the kitchen for four hours, so I tried to edit down the video to under 10 minutes.  I got it down to 12 minutes, 40 seconds.  Now most of you wont want to watch me in the kitchen for even that shorten length of time, and I don't blame you.  It's really kinda boring.  I'm trying to find my video voice, but so far it's no where to be found.  But if you are really interested in brewing your own beer, or you're a fan of DIY videos, I encourage you to watch it.  I hope I get better over time, at this as well

You are welcome most anytime to join me in brewing a batch of beer.  If you are particularly helpful, I'll even give you a cold one for your trouble! Or just come over and sample what I've got ready to drink at the time.
Cheers!

  2. Unfortunately, there's not a bit of chocolate anywhere near the bear. I used some chocolate malt, but it's just barley roasted nice and dark. It gives the beer a chocolate color and maybe chocolate aroma and flavor. Much as a wine sommelier might say a wine has "overtures of chocolate after a summer rain", when the wine is, of course, just grapes. But I a thinking of adding real pumpkin to a fall brew. Maybe you'll like that! Now you got me thinking of chocolate beer. Hmmm....
